Locum Tenens Opportunity: General Medicine Physician Near Kansas City, MO
We are seeking General Medicine Physicians for a locum tenens position near Kansas City, MO. This flexible PRN (as-needed) role involves conducting Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments for Veterans. The position is available immediately and will continue on an ongoing basis.

Key Responsibilities:
C&P Exams: Perform one-time, non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for Veterans, essential for determining their eligibility for benefits and care.
Assessment Focus:
- Conduct interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments, including range of motion testing and muscle strength testing.
- No prescribing or treatment is involved; focus is purely on assessment.
Specialization Requirements:
- Candidates must be familiar with musculoskeletal conditions, diabetes, and cardiovascular issues.
- Proficiency in METs testing and the evaluation and diagnosis of respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions is required.
Coverage Options:
- Travel to VES-leased facilities to conduct exams.
- Alternatively, schedule and perform exams within your own practice, offering flexibility in your work location.
- Option to work half-days (4 hours) or full days (8 hours), depending on your availability.
Support & Training:
- Training: Comprehensive training will be provided for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs). Support is available for using the VES provider portal for submitting evaluations.
- Documentation:
- Complete and submit Reporting/DBQs within 48 hours of exam completion.
- No narrative report is required; the final product is the completion of standardized forms.
- Regular follow-up administrative work, including addendums, medical opinions, and diagnostic readings, will be required.
Equipment & Technology:
- Laptop Requirement: Providers must use their own personal laptop (NO MACs).
- Quick Credentialing: A fast-track credentialing and onboarding process is available to get you started promptly.
Qualifications:
- Board Certification: Required.
- Licensure: Must have an active Missouri state license.
- Eligible Specialties: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or any physician with a general medicine background or experience with compensation and pension exams.
Additional Details:

- DMA Certification: Available, offering CME credits and required once privileged if not already certified.
